Spanish Researchers to Visit CRL

In July and August of 2003, the CRL will be hosting Fernadando Saenz and Pablo Gervás of the Universdad Complutense de Madrid, leading Spanish researchers in the area of software localization and Spanish language generation. The visits have been orgainzed under the umbrella of the cooperative research faculty exchange agreement establish in 2002 by the CRL and Department of Information Science of the UCM to promote joint research projects between the two universities. Drs. Saenz and Gervás will be working with members of the CRL staff on preliminary projects in software localization and Spanish language generation using, and extending, the CRL's OntoSem ontology and Mikrokosmos lexicons. These preliminary projects are being carried out with an eye toward seeking funding both in the US and in the EU for larger-scale research and development projects.
