SECOND WORKSHOP ON INTERLINGUAS: MULTI-LINGUAL TEXT

The text is from the January 1997 edition of the UNESCO Courier, which is available in 29 languages and Braille. We have 16 versions of the same article (to be) available here. Our thanks to Michel Ravassard of the UNESCO Courier Marketing Unit for providing the copies.

The January 1997 issue of the UNESCO Courier is devoted to the topic of Microfinance. The article we have selected to serve as the focus of the Second Workshop on Interlinguas is about 750 words long and deals with BancoSol, a bank in Bolivia that lends small amounts to microenterprises.

There are five pictures associated with the text. Three pictures run across the top of the article and have a single caption (Figure 1). The fourth picture is in the lower left of the article with its caption (Figure 2), while the final picture is located at the end of the article (Figure 3).

The articles in English, German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, Italian, and Malay are coded in Latin1. The Vietnamese text is available in five different encodings, though it is likely that none of them will be displayable through web browsers.
