GLEE

Gene Literature Exploration Environment (GLEE) Through this project CRL developed an interface to speed up the exploration of a gene list produced by any set of operations on the results of different DNA samples tested using Affymetricx micro-arrays. The input to the system is a list of gener identifiers from Affymetrix, which translated to the equivalent OMIM (Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Omim) gene identifiers; the pages for these genes are retrieved from OMIM and filtered using keywords/phrases supplied by the user. Sentences satisfying the filtering criteria are displayed for each gene along with a direct link to the PubMed document that gave rise to the sentence. A user can also flag a gene list for notification of OMIM updates. In this case the filtered gene descriptions are highlighted to show the new information and the user is sent an email informing him/her of theupdate.
