``common'' words are not looked up. This is done because we don't want
spurious correspondences between common words to cause us to expand the set of
possible cross-linguistic matches (see the GET-LONGEST-POSSIBLE-TRANS routine
below). Matching on common words is, however, performed when evaluating the
candidate alignments (see the SCORE-MATCH routine below).
